#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Tue Oct 25, 2011 6:39 pm

Chris Zehnder
Shamong, NJ
Architect

Meredith says that Shamong is two hours outside of Philadelphia.

Chris has brought along his wife, Amy. They recently had a baby girl, who joined her three year old brother, Zach. Chris tried to tell Zach that he'd be on Millionaire, but Zach shooed him away and said to put the cartoons back on the television.

I don't know if this was a sudden rules chance (in the middle of an episode???) or if they were running a little over in time and needed to trim a few seconds. Perhaps they did it normally and then retaped this scene after the episode was complete; if that's so, no real damage done.

But if they had done this when I was standing at the Hot Podium, prepared to take notice of the upper level questions as we've been talking about for the last two seasons, I'd have screamed bloody murder.

Yeah, it was strange that this happened in the middle of the episode. I'm wondering if there was a computer problem that forced the scene to be recreated.

I looked at it frame by frame to see if there was any evidence of the prerandomized order. Nothing there. Unfortunately, none of the topics were used on previous (aired) episodes, so there's no deriving the difficulty levels that way either.

Hopefully this was due to some sort of glitch and the players can still see the prerandomized topic tree. I guess we'll see in Wednesday's episode when the next player starts.

I wondered about this when I watched - I even went back to the first of the show to see if Laraine's stack had been similarly scrambled, but it wasn't. Was this something new that TPTB were testing or was there some other reason? Maybe they've figured out that good game players are noting where the difficult questions are.

Since we've been talking about it since the first episode under those news rules, they'd have to be pretty slow on the update to be noticing it now.

Then again, it took TPTB ten years to (officially) notice that PAFs were googling answers.
