Okay, contrary to the article that I mentioned on Saturday, Jim was not a "special guest contestant;" he was just a routine WE/WE contestant.

Here's Jim's IMDb page.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0110522/

Not bad, for someone who primarily works in live theater. Unfortunately, IMDb doesn't keep track of commercials, so there's no mention of Jim's "Dancing Raisin" role.

That's still used for determining the competence of a criminal defendant. I'm betting that this would have been one of the higher-level questions.

It actually aired on one of the networks not long ago. Next time it's one, I'll watch -- or at least, watch at it. I won't try to read a book and watch at the same time, but maybe a couple of nice Sudokus or crossword puzzles. . .

I'm not so sure about that. This is mentioned in every cop/court show when the case involves the question of sanity. It is very common knowledge.
A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.

They displayed the unrandomized Topic Tree for the first contestant of the day, Erin Parker, then they didn't for Jim. (The same thing happened on today's episode.) It looks like TPTB are determined to mix it up, simply for variety, and they are ignorant or indifferent to the effect that could have on the individual contests.
