Brett Anthony and JiaoJiao Shen
KNSB-TV, Kansas City


Brett is the morning meteorologist, working from 4:30-7. JiaoJiao is the morning anchor. They've been working together for only a few months because JiaoJiao just started at the station in July. They are playing for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Greater Kansas City. Brett says that they practiced playing the game upstairs.

They talk about how excited they get when the humane society brings animals, and when one gets adopted. JiaoJiao says that when they researched the work of the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure they learned that for only $5,000 the society could provide 31 women with mammograms. Early detection is the key to survival. Brett and JiaoJiao have a coworker who is undergoing treatment and Brett's wife's grandmother and JiaoJiao's aunt are cancer survivors. Meredith says her mother and grandmother are also.

Meredith breaks in to remind them of their lifelines. Brett wants to go with

JiaoJiao is hesitant so Brett asks her if she wants to ask the audience or skip it. She's not 100% sure but Brett's ready to go with it and take the gamble. Brett has been married for 20 years. Meredith asks if he made a list, and Brett replies that he didn't need it because his wife was "so right". Brett is feeling confident but JiaoJiao doesn't know. They decide to jump the question.
