Transcript 12/09/11 - Sarah Wolek

#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:09 am

Sarah Wolek
Arlington Heights, IL
Chemist

Sarah has a thirteen year old son, Jonathan. Jonathan was the first to get the news that Sarah had been selected as a contestant, when he listened to the message on the answering machine. He called Sarah to pass on the news and she could barely understand him, he was so excited. Jonathan's advice was for Sarah to suck on a peppermint while she's reading things, because that helps memory.

Here's an article about Sarah's appearance.

As far as game strategy, Wolek had opposing advice from her 13-year-old, Jonathan, who told her to be careful and use her lifelines well, and her husband, Rich, who told her to go for it and take risks.

“Anytime I can impress my 13-year-old son I try to jump on that,” she said. “It doesn’t happen very often anymore that I get to be the cool one.”

Continuing my rant about the topic names, what does this question have to do with burgers? If the question writers were trying to make a joke, they should at least have fit in something about Bürgermeisters.

Since I don't know it, I'll try to figure it out. It's gotta be 36th or 38th since the 37th parallel is Colorado's southern border. I would pull the trigger on this one and say 36th.

Answer
D: Tarantula
I was leaning toward tarantula. I'm sure there are no fringed rattlesnakes, although my only basis for that belief is that I've never seen a fringed snake anywhere. Same logic with a piranha -- I've never seen a fringed fish. Lizards, and by extension maybe frogs, have fringed varieties, but many tarantulas are very decorative, if you can ignore the deadly spider part. I dunno if I woulda pulled the trigger.
