Broadway Giveaway Week

Every contestant this week will have one Broadway-themed question. If they get it right, the contestant and one entire row of the audience will get to attend “Mary Poppins.”

Steffanie Leigh and Gavin Lee
Mary and Bert from the Broadway musical “Mary Poppins”

Steffanie is new to “Mary Poppins.” This is her second week.
Gavin started with the show five years ago.

Steffanie and Gavin are playing for The Actors Fund. They are guaranteed a minimum of $5K for the charity.

Meredith introduces a video clip of her preparing for and performing in “Mary Poppins.” (Looks like she might have been a chimney sweep.)

I looked it up. If you go back far enough, you get to a thief by the name of Jack Sheppard, who was totally transformed into the sinister Mack the Knife by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.

We've never had a tornado in our area, but microbursts are fairly common. We were driving along a country road and were all of a sudden in the other lane, right in the path of an oncoming pickup truck. Some judicious braking and steering resulted in a very fortunate outcome. Yay, Dad! Fast forward to 40 years later, a microburst destroyed the local Kubota dealer by wrecking almost all the inventory.

If the spelling in the question is precise, they might have meant "Mac(no "k") the Knife," who was a computer columnist 20, or so, years ago, but that seems like a tenuous association with the quote.
