In the pregame banter, Meredith mentioned how other contestants have big dreams for the money they might win. Ashley's goal was much more modest: she wants to buy a new couch.

And from this side of the TV came a reply:

Stop right there, Ashley! Give me your spot on the show and I'll guarantee you that couch you say you've already picked out, plus the $1,000 cash minimum!

But if you're really dreaming of a little more than just a couch, I call BS. :roll:

Poor Richard's Almanack was full of financial advice! 8)

As for the question, I remembered this trivia from somewhere. Franklin was born in Boston and moved to Philadelphia as a young man. Hamilton is associated with New York and Washington and Jefferson were Virginians, so their charity would have been sent in those directions.
