1. easy.  They have anagram categories a lot on J!-including tonight.2. easy.  3. WWOQ for me. Jump.
4. easy. Grapes make wine, and vinegar is basically really old wine.
5. JTQ. I didn't learn THAT phrase in Spanish class.
6. Another question featuring Tom Edison and Henry Ford in the same show?!? I knew this one cold. I read it in a trivia book.
7.
I'm just a game show nerd.

I think they must have visited the museum in Dearborn and gathered a number of question ideas. If this were a $100K like Pam's, time to run, but this looked figure-out-able to me as it wound up being to the contestant.

I don't remember the cabinet meeting, specifically, but I think there was a 60 Minutes piece on them? Rising sea levels threaten to make their whole archipelago of islands disappear. Malta's the only real distractor among the choices (the other two are continental nations), but the Nazis dropped a lot of bombs on Malta in WWII, without making it sink!

You don't have to know Spanish to translate that to "chocolate tablet". Then if you consider the six-pack abs choice and think of a Hershey bar with its little molded squares...

Even though she wasn't the first contestant of the day or week she got the randomization of the stack. I wonder if TPTB have changed their minds about that.

From the comfort of my recliner I guessed correctly, but had I been on the show I probably would have burned a JTQ. This is obviously a slang term that doesn't translate literally.

I think this episode was taped earlier in the season, before they changed their procedure.

Question 3 – 10 Low Blow
As one of the lowest-lying nations on Earth, what country held an underwater cabinet meeting to draw attention to global warming?
A. Maldives
B. Mauritania
C. Malta
D. Myanmar
The new government of Mohamed Nasheed abolished the ministries of the previous regime, and created 14 new ministries.

His cabinet also holds the notable disstinction of having the world's first underwater cabinet meeting, which was held to highlight the danger of global warming and climate change in 2009,[6] shortly after the United Nations' General Assembly's Opening Session where small island states like the Maldives called for a concerted effort to tackle the phenemenon.
[edit]
And in Today's news
The president of the island nation of Maldives, who became the country's first democratically elected leader in three decades, resigned today following weeks of sometimes violent public protests over his controversial order to arrest a senior judge.

President Mohamed Nasheed presented his resignation in a nationally televised address Tuesday afternoon after police joined the protesters and then clashed with soldiers in the streets.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

This is a real problem for some Pacific islands. Nations like Tuvalu are losing land area to the sea, and may disappear entirely. According to Wikipedia, global warming may not be the cause.
