Transcript 2/20/2008
Movie Week

Michelle Allen - Carryover
Albany, CA
Professional Fundraiser

Meredith calls Michelle a "major Netflix fan" who rents about three movies a week.

$25,000
In what film does Marlon Brando famously reply, "Whaddya got?" to the
question "What are you rebelling against?"

A: The Missouri Breaks
B: Apocalypse Now
C: On the Waterfront
D: The Wild One

Meredith asks Michelle as a single mom what she wants to do with the money.
She says three things - her kids, she wants to set up an educational trust for
them and her twin sister is about to lose her health insurance, so she wants
to help her out. (I guess the kids & educational trust count as one & two, unless
they edited one out).

$50,000
The Kurosawa film "Yojimbo" is featured in what '90s movie that bears
the same title translated into English?

A: The Bodyguard
B: The Fugitive
C: The Crow
D: The Mask

Michelle switches the question

$50,000
Which of these Best Picture-winning films features an Oscar statuette
as a prop in one of its scenes?

A: The Godfather
B: Annie Hall
C: Forrest Gump
D: Crash

Michelle guesses C. Forrest Gump and goes homes with $25,000

Answers:
$25,000 D-The Wild One
$50,000 A-The Bodyguard
$50,000 A-The Godfather

$25K: Got this one before the choices came up.

$50K: Yeah, right. Switch it.

$50K #2: For sure, it's not Forrest Gump. I've seen Annie Hall and Godfather many years ago, but I couldn't remember in either one. I'm leaning toward Annie Hall, but I wanted to see what 50:50 would leave.

Remember her opening banter on Tuesday?

How ironic that she goes out on a Godfather question!

On the previous show she called Netflix "a single mom's best friend".

Wow, a $25K question that I actually know!

I wondered about that third thing. Oddly enough, on DoND last night the contestant wanted to do three things with her winnings - the third thing was to "buy some boobs" - she had been an A-cup all her life.

Two in a row for me! Truly amazing.

Fortunately I wouldn't have seen this question; had it come up in the regular stack I'd have had to STQ because 50/50 is the only other lifeline I'd have had.
