I had no idea there was going to be a celeb on today's show.  I watched it and enjoyed Mike.  He was funny and seemed to be enjoying the experience. Here's how I'd deal with the stack:1. easy.2. easy.  I know from watching J! that Fosters is from Australia, Corona is Mexican, and Guiness is Irish.3. fairly easy to figure out.4. easy.  5. Here's where I use the ATA.
6. easy. The ATA results were iffy. I guess most of these people weren't around in the 80's.
7. easy.
8. I live in Michigan, where it usually snows in the winter, so I've heard this tip on TV.
9. easy.

That last question topic "Galactic Math" scares me. However, since it's a celeb episode, I bet it will be easier than I think it is.
I'm just a game show nerd.

I wonder who allegedly often says that. I just looked at a lot of images of woodpecker beaks and chisels on Google and didn't notice much resemblance.

Never ask a question unless you really, really want the answer......

PS For future stranded motorists, scoopable litter won't work, has to be the cheap old Johnny Cat stuff. Also fireplace ashes work well, too.

PPS Why was I not informed of Mike Rowe's appearance?????? Somebody must have been asleep at the wheel.....
It's the Final Countdown.....

But you had been informed! This thread, started in August, said he'd be appearing on the show, then an update posted in January mentioned February 27-28 as his appearance dates.

So is it celebrity week again or is this a one-off just to fill the ratings period?

I think they're breaking up the celebrity appearances into single days (or two days, if they carry over like Mike) instead of doing full weeks, this season.

Which brings up a good point. Fanny complained that nobody told her that Mike Rowe would be on the show. In that earlier thread about celebrity appearances, she argued that celebrity editions are a good thing because they'll get fans of those celebrities to watch SyndieBAM, when they ordinarily wouldn't. But then Fanny missed Mike Rowe's appearance, despite having been told about it in advance! Evidently, the nearly non-existence promotion of the episode by TPTB failed to attract her attention, as a reminder.

So how many of Mike Rowe's other fans, who don't ordinarily watch SyndieBAM, might have been enticed to do so?

Incidentally, I want to thank Mike for making the observation that there used to be a chair for the contestant and that he missed that.

Of course, when Meredith explained that they got rid of the Hot Seat to give contestants more freedom to move around, he had to make a point of doing that, "I'm pacing back and forth!"

I like it better when they put all the celebrity episodes in the same week. That makes it easier to remember not to watch.

It's curious that they didn't say anything about Meredith making a reciprocal guest appearance on Dirty Jobs. :P

But I wasn't told about it in advance! I watch Dirty Jobs every week and heard nothing about it, nor were there any adverts for it during the show.

Granted, BAM is on CBS here and I usually don't ever watch CBS aside from Monday nights. But I had it on for two hours last night and they didn't have a single promo. In fact, I can't ever recall seeing so much as a bumper for the show on CBS (although I don't watch it during the daytime).

Now that I know about it (due to a post that actually had his name in the subject line) I dvr'ed today's show, thereby proving my original assertion.

Sorry, Fanny. I have the habit of adding to old topics that are vaguely related to what I'm posting, rather than starting new ones. I should have remebered you were waiting to see Mike Rowe.

Thank you, Jarnon. When there's an entire page of multi-page posts that are mostly political, everything runs together. I was just remarking a day or so ago that I don't read too many threads these days mostly because I don't see them or just assume it's more pissing and moaning about this, that or the third.

Not very wild. Around here, tow rivals settle their disputes by vandalism, or if necessary, shooting each other. There was even a reality show about it, Wreck Chasers.
