I voted from home a few days ago, and I voted again this morning from work. You're at 122 and atop the leaderboard again (vs. 118 for the 2nd place entry). :D

I love the sig file. It's been too long since I read Dune, though, so I can't remember the original of the Bene Gesserit creed. --Bob

I think the Mentat mantra only appears in the movie, which I just happened to catch a couple of weeks ago on free On-Demand. The original, as spoken by Piter De Vries, was, "It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Saffu that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains. The stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion." IIRC, Saffu (sp?) is mentioned in the book, and is a drug that triples a Mentat's thought processes, as well as leaving red stains on the lips that don't go away. I checked the book out of the library the other day, and am in the process of reading it (I haven't read it for many years; I think my copy either got sold or lost in one of our moves).

Right; I think the whole thing goes, "I will* not fear. Fear is the mind killer, the little death that destroys reason. I will face my fear, and allow it to pass through and around me. And when it has passed, I will turn the inward eye to see where it has gone. Only I shall remain."

* "Will" could be "must"; I'm not 100% sure.

Aw, spit. We've had no internet at home for the past week, and today I tried to follow the link, but it's blocked by our school firewall. I'll try to vote when I get home this evening, since we finally got the DSL fixed.

Thanks. Maybe one of these days I'll make it back to the boat down there and we can go eat some ribs :D

50 votes down going into the last day. Unless I get a lot of help, I'm dead in the water. What's bad about it, the friends I'm going with got an offer to play in a free slot tournament the three days the trip was for too.

Thanks again for all the help.

I voted for you on my home computer. I think that the person in the lead has an advantage because their entry is posted on the first page.
