Also, he left Atlanta after the 1974 season and then played two years in Milwaukee, so honoring him in 1977 with a "Grand Slam" in Atlanta is not as obvious as it might seem. But the other three choices didn't make much sense, so Hank was the best choice.

Given the date and the location, Hank Aaron is the obvious choice. I can see how Shannon might have associated "grand slam" with tennis.
