Football Pool

#1 Post by Vandal » Thu Aug 30, 2012 5:25 am

We've done various non-fantasy pools here over the years and we should really think about getting this year's pool started. Last year we went with a Yahoo-based pool with confidence points (I think we shared it with a group of non-BBs).

There's also the USA Today Pigskin Pool and several from ESPN.

I'd start one one but such a pool typically requires daily access and I'm firewalled from fantasy sites.

Anyone game to set one up? I think the pools with confidence points add a fun level of difficulty. We have a week to get ready.

If you build it, they will come!

Coincidentally, I just got an email invite from last years Yahoo group (the Jeopardy folks). I didn't mind that one but I'd rather be surrounded by familiar names.

MBRS invites you to join her in the 2012 WWTBAM Football Pool!

http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem

Create your team, and then join the group I set up just for this Bored and their usual tagalongs!!!

Group Name: WWTBAM Bored (Group #44668)

Password: MBRS (all caps!)

I picked the confidence points option since I agree with Vandal, it made it more funner....

Good luck to all! And beware of those tight ends....

Congrats on the comeback victory Vandal!

A nice final week boosted me up to the Top 5! And I'm glad missing that Thursday night pick due to my trip back in September didn't cost me a position in the end....

Yes, congrats Vandal indeed for the nice finish. I almost made my big move in week 2 hold up. In the end I didn't play conservatively when I should have gone for the Giants since it was likely they would be the common pick. Instead I thought NY would realize their season was over with no chance for the other games to all go their way and that the Eagles would show some pride to send Reid out with a victory.

I wish I would have had the nerve to do another Vikings for 16 like I did when they hosted the Bears.

It was a good season and I was happy I didn't forget to pick any games this season.

Vandal, you had the most correct picks as well as points so a well-deserved victory. I would have felt guilty to have topped you in points but been several steps back in the winning games count.

Also, a heck of a week by Fryler to almost pull off a mighty leap.

One other lesson I learned was not to make a last minute switch just because of what the guys on the Fox pre game show picked.

Thanks LB for setting it up.
