Observations Backlog 183 - Terreplein
When I visited Burlington, IA, last year, I was astonished to find cannons in a park above the bluffs aimed at the Mississippi River, and I spent a long time on the terreplein photographing them and thinking about the amazing machinery of war.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
