500
It's been almost exactly 5 years since I drew my first ES-inspired avatar, and today I present my 500th avatar in the series. I was going to let it fall as normal, picking up off of something posted on the Bored as had been the inspiration for almost every other avatar to precede it.... but in the end, just said, "Fuck it! This milestone calls for a special avatar." So here's to all of the quirky characters that went into making these little drawings come to life!
Here's to 5 years and 500 avatars worth of squirrely, 200X200, MS Paint created, Found it fun! And let's see if it can someday make it into quadruple digits...

It's a Where's Waldo game! Or Sgt Pepper's.....
That must have been a shitload of work! Did you draw it larger and shrink it or in actual size?
Of course I had to enlarge it to make sure my faves were there (Lil and the boyz) and YAY!!!!1 and AWWWWW... for Spilly and Annie!

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

It was done at 200X200, so squishing that many characters in there with only 40,000 pixels to work with was quite a feat... and one that did take a while. I wanted to post it on my birthday, but had to settle for a day late.....
Funny thing about Sgt. Pepper's... I told Vandal I wanted to try that one for the album game I did for him in TEN!, but scrapped it when I decided it'd be too much work..... then wound up essentially doing the same thing in avatar size anyway!

Love the sneakers cameo. I wore them to my wedding. Not sure if I'll ever wear them again. It'll have to be something special...

I keep going to look at the picture to add more names.
I am not sure I am going to be able to ID everyone!
Hadn't noticed Clem's sneakers till they were mentioned.
I think I need a caption like in the yearbooks; Front Row, middle row, back row kind of thing!

Here is an enlarged version at 3X size. Obviously, it isn't as sharp since it was originally drawn much smaller....
