ANSWERS/POINTS LS WACKY WEDNESDAY March 19

Not sure what was so wacky about these. Although come to think of it, some of the bands were a little wacky and some of the songs were as well. So I suppose I started with a couple songs I wanted and a theme kind of grew out of it. So keep the theme in mind when you give the artist, you'll only get half credit if you use someone who obviously is not like the others. Except for #10, which doesn't really fit the wackiness nor the theme, so I have no idea why I used it.

Like Tequila earlier this month, it might not technically be an instrumental although there's only 1/3 of the syllables in this one.

Bonus Bonus: The #4 song above enjoyed renewed popularity when it was used in this 1992 movie.

Pretty boring game other than Osik's homer. Did you know Keith Osik hit only 13 homeruns in his 10 year career, but hit 5 of them against the Cardinals (I also saw the one he hit on 8/23/00)? I always liked Osik because he took over the backup catcher's job in Pittsburgh from another fave of mine Angelo "Don't calle me Eleutero" Encarnacion, plus he has 2 other claims to fame. He and Jason Kendall served as the catching tandem in Pittsburgh for an incredible 7 years from 1996-2002, and when he went to Milwaukee in 2003, he and Eddie Perez handled every inning of the catching duties for the Brewers that year... which is extremely rare for a team to use only 2 catchers in a season.... but enough about Mr. Osik and onto today's LS....

I have a Big Star live album where they do the theme to That 70s Show, so that's not Mott the Hoople. Can't be Friends (that's some awful 90s manufactured band. Can't be Malcolm - that's TMBG. The only other show I can think of where I even know the theme is Drew Carey. I guess that Cleveland Rocks song could be Mott the Hoople. So, yeah, Cleveland Rocks from Drew Carey.

As I recall, this was the exact same music as Part One, just all the lyrics were taken out and variations of Hey were put in. I was going to dig out the Glitter and check, but my cassettes are still packed away.

I was looking over these games at the beginning of the month to see what I've have to piece together, etc. and I remarked to my sister that I hadn't heard this at a game probably since the Nuggets moved to the Can and wondered if all sports teams had abandoned it. They're real heavy on the Kanye and the Peas at bball games the last couple years. So, we go to I think it was the Spurs game a couple days later and what do you think they played with a few minutes to go (aka the audience goes nuts part of the game)? You guessed it. HEY!
