Daughter1111 Celebration tonight
I amy have to change my avatar if I get a good picture of her accepting her award.
It is only a local award, but we are proud.
And she turns 17 on Saturday. Now how did that happen?

As for her advanced birthday, start spreading rumors that she is lying about her age -- upward. Damn kids.

Congratulations! Tell us all about it!
Here's a link to the Auburn Chamber of Commerce publication with my daughter's award for she and her business partner Kelly. It's a PDF file and you have to go to page 8. I think it will work. They are on the bottom row, 1st on the left.
Also see the Eagle Award photos...top row, middle photo...showing spouse and his VP for the Bailey-Harris Eagle award.

No one ever tells me she looks like me. Not so sure she'd want to hear that anyway. However, I'll take it as a compliment. Thanks!silvercamaro wrote:Hurray for the Harrises, too! It is called the Debbie Diaz Award. Unfortunately it is named for a young lady who died in a car accident quite a few years ago. But it honors her memory as a student athelete who everyone loved and admired for her sportsmanship and community spirit.
The organization that runs our youth sports programs in town is called Sterling House (a United Way Agency) community center. They run the summer camp for the town and a host of other programs like the Food Bank and the Rent-a-Kid programs.
Daughter1111 won the award 5 years ago for her sportmanship as a soccer player. I would say about 12-15 players win it every year. Only one referree won it this year for both basketball and soccer. Since she refs both sports we don't know which sport she was nominated in. Or who nominated her.
We have been told she is the only player who has gone on to win it as a ref.
The head of the organization says now all she has to do is win it as a coach!

I need to know more about this. I've got one I'm willing to rent out. Anyone want to rent an adorable, clever, strong-willed 8-year-old? I'm willing to negotiate for long-term rates.christie1111 wrote:...and the Rent-a-Kid programs.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.

The Amtrac route runs about a mile from our house. We'll get a running start, and I should be able to throw her on at the crossing. I'll send a PM when she's on her way.silvercamaro wrote:Send her up. Annie wants an Annie to play with.Rexer25 wrote:I need to know more about this. I've got one I'm willing to rent out. Deal. But Maddie will be disapointed there are no game show auditions in this area.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I will trade two of mine for one of yours.Rexer25 wrote:I need to know more about this.
