Etaoin info

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:36 am

I am ready to start a snail mail campaign. I would send letters to all 20 hospitals in Toronto, but wanted to make sure we think he lives there first. I just sent him a PM on the Jeopardy board, but there's a thread there also, so maybe he will see one of those.

I have been Googling to no avail, though there were some interesting diversions.

So, if you have a sense of which city he lives in, and which style of doctoring he practices, please speak up, or PM me. I have the letter mostly written in my head. Thanks.

Thanks for doing this. I'm trying to recall his medical field but it's not coming to me at the moment. I didn't realize he was on the J! board. That might be our best attempt at maybe getting his attention at some point.

In the meantime, someone with a better memory than mine may come up with more information.

I'm pretty sure he's in Montreal. Not sure which hospital.

Skoop, if you pm me his real life name, I can probably search easier than you.

I have found a Montreal doctor who matches the name in etaoin's email address in Phoenix. It is the Dr. Chrome listed on this page:

HERE

I had to use the cached entry since the real page doesn't seem to be there anymore....

Thanks folks. I'll start with that hospital and send some letters tonight. Also will try that email, because, why not?

If I recall correctly, he stated that he worked the emergency room and was down to working only one day a week because of personal health problems.

Anyone else remembering him saying this one night before FNGD.

I thought he said he was working a few hours a day (or a week?) as a consulting physician. At any rate, somebody is bound to recognize his name, assuming lb is right about his real name. I do hope we can make contact with him again. I miss him.

On vacation, Mom took a photo of a little boy on a horse. Whoever wrote down the address got it a little wrong, according to mapquest. So Mom mailed it to

couple with cute child
xxx street or xxx street
city

attn postal carrier: please help!

It has not been returned as undeliverable, so the cute child's parents probably have their photo.

If this letter does not work, I have one ready for a helpful soul, describing a part-time doctor who likes baseball and trains, and who knows more about American politics than most Americans. It will find its way. They'll know who we mean even if he's moved on.

Also, I am sure the college of physicians in Quebec would have a record of him, and could forward on a letter.

He said he was an intensive care ward physician, but had to cut back to consulting (presumably about the same field) when health problems kicked in.

I think of him whenever I see that character on ER who was moved down from intensive care to "straighten out" the ER; wants to make them more careful at intake of information, less trigger-happy, etc. The character. Dunno how Dr shrdlu feels about his TV avatar.

(just read lb's post)

OK, OK, long term care, intensive care, whatever. So I dysxlexed it? Maybe not entirely, you don't want long term care to be, kinda, nonintensive, do you?

Or are they one & the same after all??

Did I miss something here? Haven't been around for a few days. Why the concern? Sounds like he's on the missing list.

If you know his name, he can be checked out on Rate MDS .com although some hospital doctors don't make it to that site.

well I found a phone number today, and gave it a quick call. Got an answering machine and left a message. We'll see if I get a call back LOL.

I would love to see the face of the person who hears that voice mail, if it's not Dr CanadaGuy's phone!

Well I'm just a tad clever about that kind of thing. I called from work, which is associated with the medical profession, asked for Dr _______ and left my work number.
