Juvenile questioned about fetus found in Continental jet

KHOU.com staff report
HOUSTON -- Authorities are questioning a juvenile about the fetus found aboard a Continental jet at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Sunday afternoon.
The lifeless fetus was discovered in the trash disposal in one of the plane’s bathrooms by a cleaning crew, according to the Houston Police Department.
Flight 433 from New York’s LaGuardia Airport arrived at Gate C-18 of Terminal C at Bush IAH about 4:45 p.m. Sunday. Officials said all of the passengers disembarked the plane and that the cleaning crew did not arrive until about two hours later.
A member of the cleaning crew found the fetus in one of the rear bathrooms of the plane.
The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy Monday to determine if the fetus was viable. The FBI and HPD will wait for the report, which should come out in a couple of days, to determine if a crime was committed or if it was a medical miscarriage.

lol...that isn't usually the case unless the plane has some scheduled downtime for maintenance or is remaining overnight. Usually the cleaners are running on board with all their crap before the crew has even deplaned. PITA to haul one's bags over a mountain of fresh pillows in the middle of the aisle while dodging the cords from the vacuums.TheConfessor wrote:Continental lets their planes sit idle at a gate for two hours in the middle of the day before they get around to starting to clean them? Heck of a way to run an airline.

A long shot, but maybe someone was carrying it on the plane for scientific or other reasons, and it was already beyond viability.
Still creepy to leave it behind.
