Another Jeopardy! contestant gone bad:

Former Michigan 'Jeopardy!' champ is arraigned on computer crime charges

In better Jeopardy! related news, Kathy Kraninger is being nominated to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Jeopardy! champion Richard Cordray was the original director of the CFPB.

It is not stated what, if anything, she did other than log into others' email accounts. Did she send emails out "on behalf" of those people, or do anything malicious? While what she did was not completely ethical or smart, it doesn't appear as if she intended to break a law.

She could have simply been testing to see if others got the same password she did.

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Jass pled guilty to unauthorized computer access, which carries a possible five year sentence. The more serious charge of using a computer to commit a crime was dismissed (this sounds like a plea bargain). Sentencing will be in July.
