$8K: I would've been gone. I thought it was a flower. Coin just seemed way too obvious.

Just for shiggles, I would've also blown it at $16K with "2001: ASO".

I got the $25K question correct immediately, but that was a moot point.

She was probably thinking of the New Orleans Times-Picayune (or maybe the Bloom County version).

I've never done it, either, but I've heard that some of the correspondences are quite eerie.

So it's another nihil obstat® stack thus far.[/i]

Around when did this tradition get started? I've never heard of it.

Which, given my vast knowledge of pop music, is pretty hard to believe, right? :P

Wikipedia says that there were discussions on the Usenet alt.music.pink-floyd forum back in 1994, so it must have started before then. No idea as to who did it or where it started.

I know that college students were doing it during the late 1980s, even at small Midwestern colleges.

Given your displays of pop culture knowledge, it is hard to believe that you have heard of Pink Floyd or "Dark Side of the Moon." [j/k]

Yes, I have heard of Pink Floyd and "Dark Side of the Moon." Don't ask me to quote the lyrics or hum the melody or anything, though.
