In 1938, Nicholas Winton, a young London stockbroker, traveled to Prague to rescue 669 Jewish children from the impending Holocaust. He arranged their transport across Europe, got them admitted into England, and set up an agency to find families for them to live with during the war.

Sir Nicholas was 106.
