Bizarre SyndieBAM dream

#1 Post by gsabc » Mon Apr 14, 2008 6:24 am

Last night. Was in the audience and waiting for my turn in the hot seat (not waiting backstage). It was a celebrity week, where the player had a celebrity partner. Mine was Hillary Clinton. We were called backstage to tape a promo. Hillary introduced me and my talent to turn a tomato into a book, whereupon I was supposed to make some magical handwavings and the wonders of special effects would do the rest.

When I woke up, I figured out the inherent pun. They're both red (read).

Okay, dream interpreters. Go.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Hillary wants you to be her running mate and work some kind of magic to help her get the Democratic nomination. She also wants you to shield her from all the tomatoes that get thrown her way at rallies....

Well, to start off with, since candidates for office can't appear on game shows because of the equal time rules, you're saying that Hillary is going to lose the nomination.

I'll let someone else figure out what the punning means.

Personally, I'm waiting for Geico to become a SyndieBAM sponsor so that they can have a special week with real people (without personalities) accompanied with their celebrity spokespeople to do the bantering. :|

Rec!
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

This is wonderful. I'm smiling as I imagine the possibilities. :D

Let's think about which celebrities Other People would get:
Ben Stein
Ken Jennings

Let's think about the celebrities that BB contestants would get:
Amy Winehouse
Britney Spears' little sister
Jessica Simpson
Sean Penn, but authentically remaining in character as Jeff Spicoli.
