Family game show casting call - paging PSM

#1 Post by thguy65 » Thu Oct 25, 2007 11:02 am

Even if Emma is not yet a teen, they might be sufficiently impressed by her consider your family. Of course, having to pull the kids from class tomorrow is probably a deterrent.

There were previous ads listed to participate in run-throughs, but this has the appearance of an actual casting call.

From the link:
It is a pop culture trivia-based game show where you compete for life-changing prizes that the whole family will enjoy.
Can anyone imagine any family of four better prepared for a trivia game show than the Placentia Soccer Family?

Go for it!

Emma's 11-years-old, but I'll look into this. Wonder if there is a "lock out" period with regard to recent gameshow appearances?

Jeff is on it. They are checking on Emma's age, because she is borderline. They were concerned that the girls wouldn't know something along the lines of "what president was assassinated in November 1961." Jeff told them that it wouldn't be a problem with either of the girls.

They're paying 200 bucks just to audition? Pretty sweet! Though I imagine that's a big pay cut from jsuchard's usual daily pay scale.

1961? Will they really ask about Presidente Trujillo?

As long as they're just asking who it was -- not when -- y'all should be okay.

I guess not, unless you are playing the "Higher, Lower" game with us?
I'll say "Lower".

Reminds me of the joke about the two Aggies:

Been fishing?

Yep.

How many fish you got in that sack?

If you can guess, I'll give you both of them.

Four?

Nope. You missed it by one.

Well, I suppose I could refer to you by your real family name, seeing how Jeff uses that as his handle and all, but we're so used to using nicks around here that it's more comfortable. :)

And imagine the producers being concerned about your kids handling basic trivia--they could take on older teens and twenty-somethings and run them into the dirt! 8)

My girls have watched "I Love the 1980's" so many times that they can handle trivia from our generation. I worry about Jeff with the new stuff though, he has a difficult time remembering names.

Hmm. Sounds like there's no problem with the girls being too young. Now you just have to worry about Jeff being too old! 8)

They gave us all quizzes. My girls did better than they should, as did I, so the producer said that there wasn't enough of a Generation Gap. She is going to talk to her producer.

Good news, 8 more episodes of "1 vs 100" were taped for season two.

Sheesh! Looks like they want families with a "knowledge gap". I guess that's what you get for having smart kids.

Ooooh! A guessing game!

Which BBs do we know with three kids (teens to twenties), in driving range of LA?

Could it be a certain long-lost judge with a son who works for J!? :)

Or maybe a family with two kids, a teen and a tween, but since the format wasn't designed for a tween, the producers want both the tween and a friend of the teen (who has been on 1 vs 100 and is the daughter on the Mom's best friend) to test with the Dad, Mom and the teen.

I would just be guessing though.
