Hometown Heroes Week

Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler
Sacramento, CA

In August of 2015, the three friends were on a train from Amsterdam to Paris when gunshots broke out.
They tackled and disarmed the terrorist.

The group’s Plus One is Alek’s bother, Peter.

They also have a fourth lifeline, Cut the Question. If they have a question they can’t answer, they can ask to Cut the Question. The question will then be replaced with a new one. The CTQ can be used on any level up to and including the $50K question.

Spencer will be the one to say final answer.

This was so fun! I had no idea when I read the transcript what a great show they made. It aired yesterday and today in our market.

I got to watch this up to the $30K question Monday, then they made the mistake of cutting away to Sean Spicer's press conference, where every statement strained credibility more than the last. They finally cut to Comey so we could watch him not answer questions.

$7K If it were converted to the metric system, the phrase “the whole 9 yards” would be roughly what?
A. “The whole 3.8 meters”
B. “The whole 5.2 meters”
C. “The whole 8.2 meters”
D. “The whole 12.9 meters”

Spoiler
C. “The whole 8.2 meters”

It was so fun to watch them talk this out. Someone originally said 3.8, then one of the others said no, a meter is longer than a yard, to it's less.

$20K Taking its name from a Tamil word, a catamaran is a type of seacraft originally used in waters off the coast of what country?
A. Iran
B. Somalia
C. India
D. Greenland

This was fun too, watching Peter get the right answer from majoring in linguistics.
