Estonut says:

Yeah, & zygers are not native to anywhere.

I was so convinced I had heard the term "zyger" used somewhere (probably in some work of fiction back when I had time to read them) that I completely overlooked the "native to Africa" part of Q. Well, I didn't overlook it in ruling out zalligator & zizzly. This "reading for meaning" thing proves to be selective.

This is play-along is a game about how I think I would I have played this game, not a demo of my amazing knowledge & ability to reason & so forth.

I do that elsewhere.

On this list.

I might travel to Antarctica if someone gave me a million dollars to do it, but it would be a near thing.

There *is* such a thing as a liger (male lion/female tiger child) which is probably what I was thinking of, even though tigers would still not have met lions in Africa by just wandering in from Asia (they probably "met" in a handy syringe).

There *is* also such a thing as a tigon (male tiger/female lion child).

Ligers are HUGE - far bigger than both parent species.
Tigons are about the size of female tigers.
