Jason Isaacs Heads New Star Trek Cast

Jason Isaacs will play the ship's captain in CBS's new Star Trek series, now scheduled to begin late summer or early fall. Like the current Good Fight, this version of the show will only be available on CBS's new All Access Platform (although the premiere episode will play on the broadcast network. I've seen The Good Fight and it's the same high quality and style as The Good Wife (with much of the same cast). The only difference is that episodes run a bit longer and they throw a few F-bombs in the dialogue, although I doubt they would do that for Star Trek.

Like Isaacs, much of the rest of the cast is familiar to TV and movie fantasy and sci fi fans, including James Frain as Spock's father Sarek. If that's the case, then the show would seem to be set a few years before the original Star Trek.
