These are the top 15 for January. I started out in the top ten for about the first ten days but then got killed. The last time I finished a month in the top ten was in October. My slow hotel connection caused a slow response today.

Sploofus has a real problem with their timing. Recently I got 2,000 on a question with a reaction time of 0.01 seconds.

It took forever to load, and although I was fast to get the answer...not that fast.

ETA--didn't help me much as I had my worst month yet...don't even bother to see how far down I am. I have also managed to figure out that not everyone gets the same question and ease of question might depend on what level you are at.

Yes, not everyone gets the same questions. It's totally random though, it doesn't depend on your level. Sometimes it seems that they take pity on me after a bad month with a good one, but I'm sure that's an illusion.

I got lucky today. I had a question about a book from 1985. Fortunately, I had read it and remembered the author.

He's followed in second by Gobobbygo.

I finished 19th. I had no misses for about the first three weeks then missed two in a row. Then another yesterday.

I've only gone in using the link for QOTD from my emails, I don't do anything else there. I often go in and do a week at a time.

It appears that not only are the QOTD expiring at the end of each day, but the email links aren't working.

I just went to sploofus.com and got right in and was able to answer QOTD.

So the site seems to work, the emailed links do not

I check every day or so, and I'd been unable to get in. But around 10:30 ET I did.
And after answering a backlog of 6 or so questions, I have a (temporary, I assume) huge-ass lead.
