Acute Myeloid Leukemia
is the diagnosis, with an extremely enlarged spleen. Mom has been assessed by the palliative response team, and is now under hospice services. The problem is the enlarged spleen, which could rupture at any time. She is on morphine now, 4 times a day as the pain level is a 9 out of 10.They are referring to maybe weeks, if we are lucky.
The hospice team will be at the house, probably Tuesday morning. I am taking this week off to fill in the missing time.

Re: Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Keeping you, your mom, and your family in my thoughts, my friend. Treasure this time with her that you've been given. It will be difficult, but there will also be moments you will be very grateful for in the long run. I say this from my experiences with my mom....and also from my experience on the other side of the coin with my dad.
