Why do I have to be the one to break the story about the second arrest of a Michigan doctor for FGM in a week?

Since this has come very early in the Trump Admin, with their obvious change in focus, one has to wonder if the Obama Admin was discouraging moving forward on "clit-cutting" prosecutions under their watch.

Or a more likely explanation is that this is the type of crime that few people involved report to the police.

As why you have to be the one breaking the story, a more likely explanation is that no one else on this Bored has such a morbid fascination with this type of crime.

No, SSS, It doesn't fit the liberal narrative, so it's not reported on by any of the leftist propaganda sites, so BJ didn't post it for us today.

Wasn't the federal law used to prosecute these crimes passed during the Clinton Administration? --Bob

This is a horrifying crime, but there are dozens of equally or more horrifying crimes every day, very few of which get reported on leftist, rightist, or mainstream media sites.

The law was passed during the Clinton Administration but these are the first two arrests made under it. Several states have similar laws but arrests under those laws or more general assault laws have been very few over the years as well.

Again, it's not a matter so much of what Clinton, Bush, and Obama Justice Departments and the various state police departments around the country have done or not done but the nature of the crime, which occurs in tightly knit communities and is seldom reported. Many of these girls don't even know what has been done to them until years later, if at all.

The fact that the two arrests occurred in the same community indicates that someone there is willing to talk and give the FBI some solid evidence.
