I can confirm the upcoming season will be filmed in a tent behind ballys. The auditions may also be held there.

This is some sort of permanent tent that will be rented out as a soundstage to other production companies filming things in Vegas.

Also, from the On Camera Audiences website:
TICKETS COMING SOON!

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire returns to Las Vegas July 5th, 2017. Please submit your information below to join the mailing list and we will notify you when tickets become available. Thank you!
So the open auditions will partially overlap the taping season. I don't know whether open or studio auditions give you a better chance to get selected, but watching a taping is more fun!

The only advantage of one over another is an earlier audition date gets you in the pool sooner.

The people at the auditions are not the people who decide if you're on the show.

But they ARE the primary people who decide who WON'T be on the show.

That implies that calls are likely to start going out approximately next week.

That mean only Aug. 4 overlaps with TCONA.

Considering how rare weekend tapings are, Friday is the only possible day to have such overlap, which happened last year as well.

I went to the Sunday taping after TCONA wrapped-up last year.

I just looked at the ticket page...they are down to a 10% discount at Bally's for contestants and audience members. I don't remember if audience members got the discount last year, but contestants got 20%.

August 14-18 and August 21-22 have been added. I think that's the whole season.

Last season they did 5 per day, with three in the afternoon session and 2 in the evening session. I don't remember the length of the break between afternoon and evening tapings.

I would love to be there. We spent 5 days next door at Paris in May. That would make a LV trip even more memorable.

Come back in August for TCONA and you can do that and audition too.

The Millionaire website says the show is taping NOW :!: at the new Caesars Entertainment Studios behind Bally's. Here's what it looks like:

It's fancier than your typical tent.

This is an interactive 360° video:

As for the open auditions, the website still says "Please line up in Bally’s outside of the Jubilee Theater."

If you want to be involved with Millionaire, but not at the podium or in the audience, Skip the intern's job is open:
