Somebody called from Canada
Somebody called me from Canada last night. They are going to be sending me a DVD of some comedy pilot to watch next week.

I don't really want to be, I just want to know why I am not.MarleysGh0st wrote:You know, it really sounds like you want to be placed on those spam lists. I did one of those once, about 3 or 4 years ago. The pilot was awful, a show that would never be seen, one that I was surprised even got on tape. What they wanted to know was my reactions to the commercials. Excedrin, IIRC.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Somebody called me from Canada last night. Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!
That'll be $10, please.

That is an interesting set up.Rexer25 wrote:I did one of those once, about 3 or 4 years ago. The pilot was awful, a show that would never be seen, one that I was surprised even got on tape. I was at a craft show once. These people asked me to watch a video about some car. I did. Then I answered some questions about the video and the car. Then they asked about a Denny's kinda restaraunt. I think that is what it was about and they did the car video thing to have me be free to answer the questions they really wanted answered.

I think that if you wrote back to one of the spam letters that we posted, they would certainly write back to you and probably sell your name to a mailing list.MarleysGh0st wrote:You know, it really sounds like you want to be placed on those spam lists. A couple weeks ago, I got called for a survey. It became apparent from the questions that this was about a patent lawsuit somebody has against Cornell (Do I know anyone on this long list of names which included Cornell administrators, etc.) The guy conducting the interview denied that he was trying to find sympathetic jurors (I had to answer an official jury eligibility survey not too long ago, so I think my turn is coming again). If that was true, he was certainly trying to gauge local opinion in connection to that.
And it so happened that the topic reminded me of a lawsuit this company is involved in, so I became uncomfortable answering vague hypotheticals and terminated the interview.
But with only mild prejudice.

That's very interesting. I will have to make sure that everyone watches the DVD at the same time.dodgersteve182 wrote:Those Video Surveys can be fun. I got to Review HBO's Lucky Louie before it was put on their schedule 2 years ago. I kind of liked the Pilot and then I tried to que it up again for Mrs. DS and discovered that the DVD had selfdestructed. "Good morning Mr. Phelps".

At least you're not in Podunkville.
"Some" just call it a whole lot of white space on the map.
