Oh dear Lord, spare us from nitwits such as this.

It's a friggin' MATH question, not a history question!! Have they stopped word problems altogether in the modern arithmetic curriculum?

Natch is just short for "naturally". Maybe a faded phrase, though I don't read those referred-to gossip columns, so it could still be in use, and understandable in context.

Pitiful, just pitiful.

I totally agree. Absolutely pitiful.

I'll try my usual rant. When I think of the BRILLIANT people I know from this bored and the GC, it makes me sick to think that this twit got into the hot seat.

It makes me happy to be Canadian so I'm not qualified for the show. It saves a lot of grief.

$1K: I never actually bothered before to look up what the Q stood for. I would also ATA. Good thing cuz I thought "quick".

A: 1800 B: 1920

Irrelevant. This is a math question disguised as a history question. It's just asking what year is "fourscore and seven years ago" from today (day of taping).

$4K: Never heard of this word. I'll have to use PAF.

I'll be going for $8,000, but I'll have only my 50:50. An extreme rarity for me.

I was hoping that the problem with fourscore was that it wasn't a word she was familiar, being from New Zealand. Couldn't quite hear what she said, though.

I'd have been out of q-tip on this one!

I don't like the sound of that. Especially since they threw most of those appliances at me after my prediction was slightly off....

See, I'm not the only one trying to figure out who this reject is that supposedly qualifies to be a game show host. Hey Emma, while you're doing your best Sigmund Fraud, why don't you analyze the heads of the idiots who run this show? I've got a few inkblot pictures of me giving the finger if you need to borrow them....

ATA: A: 3% B: 70% C: 24% D: 3%

The Q in front of this psychology student's name stands for "quack", not that every head doctor I've ever been to hasn't also been a quack....

Emma's fiance, Russ, is in the audience.

This show has probably led to more broken off engagements than any other in the history of television. I sometimes wonder if they haven't been stealing contestants from the same pool they use on the Love Connection for Dumbasses.....

$2,000

A: 1800 B: 1920
C: 1960 D: 1980

Emma says she's not really great in American History because she's not an American. She's a Kiwi, from New Zealand.

No, she's more like a Dodo from Moron Island. Exactly what does this question have to do with American history, Emma? Once again, I'd forgive Kazoo for having to use a lifeline here since this is nothing more than a simple math question, but I don't care if you'r from New Zealand or New Jersey, you should know how many years are in a damn score!

PAF: Emma calls Linda, her mom's best friend. She reads the question and answers. "Eleven seconds."

It took you 19 seconds to read this out loud? You're not here to bill anyone by the hour, you're here to try to win some damn money, which means you better realize what the hell you're doing and fast!

Linda: Okay, run them past me real quick, again.

Emma: 1800, 1920, 1960, 1980, five seconds.

Linda: Emma, I don't know--

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. PAF segments on this show are now being sponsored by Excedrin Migraine. Just take 10 Excedrin Migraine suppositories to relieve the overwhelming pain your poor head will feel after having to watch the stupidest people on earth have telephone conversations so unintelligent that Alexander Graham Bell would be rolling over in his grave....

50/50 leaves A & B.

Hold on while I apply my medicine....

Emma: I want to say No clue, because I have no clue, but I don't know if that's the right choice!

The sound you just heard is the sound of millions of televisions simultaneously meeting an untimely death because viewers like you and me are forced to take drastic measures when confronted with such complete and utter cluelessness....

I hate to walk away at $2,000, then again, I'd hate to go away with $1,000 less than I could if I walk away.

Yeah, you may need that extra $1,000 to fly back to New Zealand when you get deported by our country's Intelligence Police. Though I think a slow boat, preferrably one with at least a couple slow leaks in it, would be much more appropriate...

Emma walks away with $2,000. If she had to guess, she would have been whimsical and said, "No Clue."

I've got your whimsical right here, Emma, you goddamn dumbass.

Oh holy friggin' Lord. After seeing this daily double of dipheadedness, I may need to go curl up in a ball in my dungeon for fourscore and 7 years.....

If I had been given this question, I'd have pointed out that Lincoln would have rephrased the speech to say "eleven score and eleven years ago".

Thus giving a shout-out to christie! 8)

I thought "Quick" was a wicked distractor at this level. Would have also burned ATA to avoid the llama.

You may have got this if you thought about it for a while, as is usually the case at 2K and 4K. Natch is just a shortened one-syllable version of a longer word that means "of course".
Spoiler
Naturally.

She certainly has been in the country long enough to lose her New Zealand accent.

Well, at first I was just going to figure out what 1776-2007 worked out to in "scores". But when I realized what the result was...one of the SyndieBAM question writers likes you! 8)
