Bridge report
Two days (so far) at the Las Vegas Regional and two decidedly mediocre results. Finished 24th overall in the Friday Open Pairs, winning 2.86 points. Lost our first match in the Compact Knockout but won our consolation match to salvage 2.25 points from that event. Tied for 4th/5th in the "loser Swiss" to add another 2.76 in the afternoon. Total so far with one day to go, 7.87 points. --Bob

Re: Bridge report
On Sunday, my partner and I were set up with teammates from the East Coast at the very last minute. We exchanged our pairs entry for a team entry and started playing. It turned out to be a good decision.
We were in second place after four (of seven) matches. After beating the leaders, we were in first place after five matches. We remained in first place after six matches. Unfortunately, we were blown out in our last match and ended up tied for 6th/7th in the event, but also finishing 2nd in Strat X. The performance was good for 11.66 points (and happy teammates), resulting in a reasonably satisfying total of 19.53 points for the weekend. --Bob
