It was excerpted in Sports Illustrated. Good stuff.

Author is exactly my age (well, within a few months,anyway) as the 1970's encompassed his years from 3 to 13. Which is my exact ages through the 1970's.

I agree, the excerpt in SI was terrific and Steve Rushin has always been one of my favorite writers in that magazine anyway. I've always kind of thought of him as the heir to Rick Reilly, who was the heir to Frank DeFord.
