A thank you to bored in its many iterations

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Wed Jun 28, 2017 8:40 pm

It's been 15 years since I went thru breast cancer crud. My 65th birthday has sort of pinged my verklemptness. This bored and previous iterations swept me thru massive crap, created bellylaughs that I truly think helped heal me, and even with all our bullshitty obsessiveness and lovely snark, I wish we could get back to Friday Night Gender Defender!

Thanks y'all, even ya commies!
Well, then

Happy cancer-freeness (as opposed to free cancer, a tip of the hat to how a friend labels the coffee at his house-concerts; caffeine-free vs free caffeine).

May you & I both, & Marley for three, get on the damn show already. goongas for four. Am I leaving anybody out?

Happy 15th anniversary.

I have my 10th 2nd chance anniversary next year.

Your velcome, Comrade Beebskie!

FNGD, Seven Clues...sources of COUNTLESS snorts, guffaws, and the occasional Oh-My-Lord-I-Can't-Breathe. The Purses Galore/James Bronk night springs immediately to mind. That evening was particularly inspired. I miss those days as well. They were my entry into this Bored World. I haven't had reason to break out the Underoos since those games were retired.

I am quite happy you got past those trials, my friend. Very happy indeed.

But Bob, you're in the pooly pool pool! And will soon be on the show. I hope.

(Hope I haven't got my Bobs wrong.)

Definitely add T-Bone to the "must be on show" group. Even if he's not auding anymore either. They should be seeking us Old (& young) Faithfuls out.

Been there before. Calls have already gone out for roughly half this season and my phone remains obstinately silent. --Bob

I appreciate the thought, Ghost. Unfortunately that ship has sailed. Since they tape in Vegas, I couldn't make the trip there. And honestly, having peeked in a couple of times at the current version, I seriously doubt my ability to get very far in the game..way too many off the wall questions these days from what I can tell.

Most of all, I've had not one but TWO shots at it. Yeah, the "third time's the charm" element (and not having to go through the fastest finger gauntlet) might be an interesting hook, especially when my FF's include one 3rd place and three 2nd place finishes (my final one coming up short by agonizing hundredths of a second as I recall..it wasn't by much anyway), but the fact remains that I at least got my chances. While I can't deny that I wish things happened a little different, I'm ok with it. Hey, for all I know, I might've said or done something really embarrassing in that HotSeat that would've immortalized me on You Tube in the most mortifying way possible.

So really, I'd like to see those who have been trying for years and years and never been called get their chance. Truly.

THEN, after that, if the producers wanna come and tape a show in my living room, I'd be happy to roll out the welcome mat
