1. In theater, what could be called a "proscenium"?
A. Spotlight
B. Fourth wall
C. Trapdoor
D. Orchestra pit

Or, for that matter, any separation between the performers and the audience.

2. What is the name for the therapy that involves the application of mud and seaweed to the skin?
A. Gulkand
B. Moxibustion
C. Thalassotherapy
D. Balnotherapy

These are all real words. Gulkand is an elixir made from rose petals. Moxibustion is a form of acupuncture. Balnotherapy is just a fancy word for "soaking in a bath or spa".

3. What describes a fabric that has been "decatized"?
A. Shrink-proof
B. Fade-proof
C. Stain-proof
D. Wrinkle-proof

"Sanforized" is another term that you might see used in the trade for shrink-proofed materials.

4. A person suffering from "geniophobia" would despise which of these famous body parts?
A. Dolly Parton's big boobs
B. Donald Trump's big mouth
C. Prince Charles' big ears
D. Jay Leno's big chin

Yes, fear of chins is actually a thing.

5. What type of weapon was a "harquebus"?
A. Gun
B. Mace
C. Axe
D. Sword

6. Today is July 20... so which of these dates would be "nudiustertian"?
A. July 13
B. July 18
C. July 22
D. July 27

A pedantic way of saying "the day before yesterday".

7. In a house of worship, what would you most likely do in a "refectory"?
A. Baptize babies
B. Sleep
C. Eat
D. Store religious texts

It's the dining room.

8. In the old days, a "gabelle" was a tax on what commodity?
A. Tobacco
B. Salt
C. Tea
D. Sugar

9. Which of these pairs of homophones could be considered antonyms of each other?
A. Acclamation and acclimation
B. Greave and grieve
C. Complacent and complaisant
D. Indict and indite

Though both words are derived from the same Latin word for "to please", complacent means "pleasing to yourself" and complaisant means "pleasing to other people".

BONUS. A key component of Trumpian politics and Estonutian mannerisms, what hyphenated word that describes "the rejection of honesty in favor of satisfying emotions or prejudices" was selected by the Oxford English Dictionary as 2016's "Word of the Year"?

Post-truth

And you can bet that "alternative facts" is in the running for the 2017 Word of the Year.
"[Drumpf's] name alone creates division and anger, whose words inspire dissension and hatred, and can't possibly 'Make America Great Again.'" --Kobe Bryant (1978-2020)

"In times of crisis, the wise build bridges. The foolish build barriers." --Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020)
