Book rec question

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Sun Jul 23, 2017 10:26 am

Has anyone read any Nicci French? Psychological thrillers written by a British duo. Recommended by author Louise Penny, whose Inspector Gamache series I've devoured. She is truly brilliant and addictive. Has a new one, Glass Houses, coming soon.
Thenks everso.
Well, then

What's with all the posts about books and reading?

You should sit down, grab a beer and watch some god damn TV like a real American.
What the f$%$ck are you looking at?

You m@#&%$er. I'm not a rabblerousing c@#$%&er like your fat @#$.

Plus, I'm a delicate flower and am doing my part to offset the frequent acrimonious bile that bubbles amongst us these days.

Trust me. You grizzled, hepatic, bag of bloodsucking calcium.

Thenks everso.

Sweet cheeks, by older women I assume you mean those not yet exhumed.

Rancid beeswax.

Exhibit 578, why I keep coming back here
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
