Attention Former Millionaire Contestants!

#1 Post by minimetoo26 » Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:50 am

Okay, I normally don't look in the classified ads past page 1, but we're looking for a cheap TV, so I looked in the paper. With the military here a bunch of people sell the stuff they don't want to ship so you get decent bargains.

It was a bust because I don't want a 65" behemoth in my bedroom (down, skippy!) but this item must have been posted in the wrong category:

Searching for former Millionaire contestant. Would like inf. Call xxx-xxxx after 6pm.

So. Does that sound like they are going to be on the show and could use this place? Or like they are looking for a specific contestant (like the Wet Willie guy--he was from here)? Would this be someone you would want finding you? I'm not a former contestant, so I don't know if you guys get stalked or whatever.

If you think this person is someone you would call, the area code is 757 and the time zone is Eastern.

Thanks.

Hmmm. By saying "contestant" instead of "contestants" and by advertising in the local classifieds, I'd say he's looking for one person in particular (whose name escaped him?). Who knows what his reasons are, but I doubt he wants the advice we offer here.

I was stunned he wasn't already using the middle finger.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

To me it sounds like they got on the show and would like to find a former contestant to help them prepare.

If you think so, you just happen to be a former Millionaire contestant. What luck!

Be sure to post a report of the phone conversation. :)

I am not going to call somebody that I don't know, especially if it's a long distance call :)

I'll just give them Marley's number so they'll be good and homicidal towards the APs when they show up. That's some Must-See TV!!!!

Nice! The computer appears to be channelling me.

Of course, I'd expect that instead of banging your head on the table, you'd be running for the baseball bat....

But they don't want to talk to me, since I am not a former contestant!

There are plenty of others here who fit the bill, if they share PSM's opinion of the intent of the ad.

I didn't dare use the one where the guy rips out the other guy's stomach and wears it as a hat....

The skeleton kinda reminds me of my old associate, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

But when the "yet to come" Christmas season started arriving in stores by July, he had to retire from exhaustion!

The ghost of Christmas future didn't arrive in our store until mid September, and they didn't even set up the annoying carol singing crap until last week.

I'm going to call.

I'll report tomorrow.

I have free long distance.

What the heck.
