RIP Goldy McJohn

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:46 am

Passed away on Tuesday. Was the keyboard player for Steppenwolf. His Hammond B-3 Organ powered hits like "Born To Be Wild" and "Magic Carpet Ride". Frankly, in my opinion, it MADE those songs what they were, along with John Kay's growl of course. Also memorable for his rather impressive head of hair.

To be honest, I could swear I read of his passing several years ago, but obviously not.

Many years ago I practiced until I could copy his playing perfectly. RIP
