A modest proposal

#1 Post by elwoodblues » Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:10 pm

How about this? We leave the Confederate statues up, but we put a plaque on each of them that says, "This is a reminder that we used to think it was okay for some people to own other people. And the people who insist that they are just trying to preserve history seem to be weirdly protective of this particular part of history."

Deal?

Shouldn't a modest proposal involve eating the statues?

As long as they serve them with white gravy, not brown.

The pigeons say that's not gravy.

You'll need something a little more acidic than the Cracker Barrel's gravey to help digest the bronze. So the pigeons' help will be needed.
