Game #171: I Love Music, Any Kind of Music

Identify the 100 songs in the clues below. (Most are from the pop charts, but we make a few excursions elsewhere.) Then, match them into 37 triples according to a Tangredi, or principle you must discover for yourself. Eleven songs will be used twice, each time in a different capacity.

There will be no legitimate alternate answers.

1. And you're a very sexy girl
That's very hard to please.
You can taste the bright lights,
But you won't get them for free.

2. You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one.
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one.

3. Something 'bout the way your hair falls in your face,
I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillowcase.

4. All around, people looking half dead,
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head.

5. Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway.
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world keep turning our way.

6. When I'm losing control
Will you turn me away
Or touch me deep inside?
And when all this gets old
Will it still feel the same?
There's no way this will die.

7. In the heat of our love,
Don't need no help for us to make it.
Gimme just enough to take us to the mornin'.
I got fire in my mind,
I got higher in my walkin'
And I'm glowin' in the dark.
I give you warnin'.

8. His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti.

9. The radio and the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go.

10. Well, the only person talkin' 'bout love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the teacher.

11. You know darn well
When you cast your spell, you will get your way.
When you hypnotize with your eyes
A heart of stone can turn to clay.

12. And I don't wanna be your second choice,
Don't wanna be just your friend.
You keep telling me that you're not in love,
You wanna throw it all away.

13. Hey baby, let me be
The one who turns you on from A to Z.

14. I can't tell you what you're feeling inside.
I can't sell you what you don't want to buy.
Something's missing
And you got to look back on your life.
You know something here just ain't right.

15. Ain't no smilin' faces
Lyin' to the races.

16. High and dry, out of the rain,

As long as I'm making my music ain't gonna do nobody no harm.

18. Gliddy glub gloopy, nibby nabby noopy la, la, la, lo, lo,
Sabba sibby sabba, nooby abba nabba, le, le, lo, lo.

19. And those of us with ravaged faces,
Lacking in the social graces,
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone.

We gotta hide what we're doing,
'Cause what would they say
If they ever knew?

21. I've been in my mind,
It's such a fine line.

A blessed Angel came
And unto certain Shepherds
Brought tidings of the same.

Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?

Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty.

My .02 on the drive-by:

53 - Thinking the tile should actually be "They Just Can't Stop It (Games People Play)", by the Spinners; as I recall, they presented the title like this to avoid confusion with the Joe South classic

73 - "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman" by Dr. Hook; not sure if the last half of the title should be in parentheses?

76 - "Listen To The Music" by the Doobie Brothers

88 - "Dark Lady" by Cher
"Again" - Herb Brooks (as played by Kurt Russell)

(I Can't Get No) needs to be added back to Satisfaction as well. The only reason I tacked it on is because it's usually a given that parentheticals are going to be important in Tangredi lyrical games....

Esto, Krox, AD and LB have added to the list since the first consolidation (#'s 51, 71, 79, 81, 91, 95 and the full title of #100), but I can add a couple...

69. Some things take so long,
But how do I explain
When not too many people
Can see we're all the same?

93. When you walk into the room,

Also, I believe the full title of #10 is BALL OF CONFUSION (That's What The World Is Today) and #82 is MOVIN' OUT (Anthony's Song)

It'll probably be important later on in this game, but the correct title is YOU'RE THE FIRST, THE LAST, MY EVERYTHING.

I'll go through the other songs in a couple of hours.
