Questions
1. Who decides who the nominations are?
2. And who votes?
3. Who the heck is Sister Rosetta Tharpe
4. How can this be a legitimate R&R HoF if the Moody Blues is still not in but the Beastie Boys are? Did they bet on the Grammies or something?

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

Re: 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations
From Wikipedia: "...an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. A pioneer of mid-20th-century music, she attained popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with her gospel recordings, characterized by a unique mixture of spiritual lyrics and rhythmic accompaniment that was a precursor of rock and roll. She was the first great recording star of gospel music and among the first gospel musicians to appeal to rhythm-and-blues and rock-and-roll audiences, later being referred to as 'the original soul sister' and 'the godmother of rock and roll.'"BackInTex wrote:Questions

Oh for..........
RUFUS??? RUFUS??????
LLCool J?
Bon Jovi?
Still no Tull. Doobies. Todd Rundgren. Guess Who. And so on. Oh, why bother? I list the same snubs every year. I DEFY anyone....ANYONE.....To make a convincing case that Rufus deserves to get in before the above mentioned artists (and about 500 more) They had ONE FREAKING HIT and it was written by Stevie Wonder. It was a good record, but hardly groundbreaking. If they get in, there should be a special wing for them, Percy Sledge, and a few other dubious inductees called the WTF? wing.
All I can think of is that it's a response to criticism that there aren't enough women in the Hall. If so, I can think of a number of women who could more appropriately fit that bill. We'll start with Carly Simon and work from there.
At least the Moodys got nominated. But at this slooooooooooooow rate, the glaring omissions list won't be rectified until 3017.

Here are some interesting opinions listing some acts (most of which I agree) that are being screwed over:

3. Sister Rosetta. Our parish, St. Malachy's, is up the street from the 11th and Master referenced in the story. We see Sister Rosetta's plaque quite often.BackInTex wrote:Questions

4. Why aren't the Moody Blues in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a topic of discussion around our house several times a year.
