1973-1993
A major league pitcher toed the rubber for over 20 years, before retiring in 1993. Early in his career (before), he was considered a hard thrower and was paired up with another hard thrower (and future hall-of-famer) for many years. In his later years (after), he relied more on control and mixing speeds. It's been said of his fastball speed: he was "the guy who threw 90 in the 70s and 70 in the 90s."

Name the pitcher. (2 points)

Name his hard-throwing teammate (and future hall-of-famer) during his early years. (2 points)

FADS & CRAZES

1999
A music sharing site was all the rage for a few years. All internet users had to do was download the software and get any mp3 music file they wanted. Eventually, the Record Industry caught on to this, considered it piracy and sued them (and won).

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
