Another game show legend has departed, though you're less likely to recognize his name. Merrill Heatter was a producer of many shows, starting right after the quiz show scandals of the 1950s. He created and produced all the "Gambit" shows and spinoffs. He partnered with Bob Quigley to produce Hollywood Squares.

When I was a kid, I thought that Merrill Heatter productions was named for 2 guys, Mr. Merrill and Mr. Heatter. Much later, I found out that was one man's name.
