Raqqa and Kirkuk

In Syria, U.S.-backed forces, mostly Kurdish, have driven Daesh out of Raqqa. Like Al Qaeda in 2002, Daesh is now just a terrorist group instead of a quasi-government. Kudos to President Trump and our allies.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi army has regained control of Kirkuk from the Kurds. The Israeli take on this is interesting. Israel loves the Kurds, who are a thorn in the side of Israel's worst enemies. They believe the loss of Kirkuk hurts our allies (see above) and gives Iran an opening in the region. Ironically, most supporters of Kurdistan also back the Palestinians.
