I don't know why I still remember that skit from their show. Meanwhile, back at the Fun Fact Ranch.... Cher was named after Lana Turner's baby, Cheryl Crane. According to either Lana or Cheryl's book (I read both) Lana thought of the name in a dream and Cher's mother Georgeanne was so taken with it that she took a spin on it. I've always meant to research if Cheryl was actually a name before Lana dreamed it, but I never have.

Edited to fix my spoiler (which is not the same as the spoiler on the 280Z since I never had one....or any car until I could afford to buy one and pay for insurance. Which is why I didn't have a license until I was 19. I've heard it builds character.....ha!
