In memoriam: Vincent Scully, beloved teacher ‘helped shape a nation’

Forty years ago, when I was a math grad student, I sat in on Prof. Scully's brilliant lectures for a semester.

I'm not glad this man is dead, but when I read the headline, I thought that Vin Scully the baseball announcer had died and that "Professor" was some nickname I wasn't familiar with. I am very glad Vin Scully is still with us and hopefully going strong.

I looked in Geni.com to see if they're related, but I couldn't tell. Vincent Scully is a common name.
