Doesn't someone usually announce the Bowl Mania contest on this Bored around this time? My totally random picks have to win one of these years....

This phrase has a long Bored history. It was first used on an older version of the Bored when someone, I think me, was running a Question of the Day contest. Im_Ace was impatiently awaiting the posting of the previous day's results, and wrote that he was "taping my watch" to hurry them along. I'm pretty sure that his original use of the term was a typo. It's one that the Bored quickly adopted, though. --Bob

ahh...had no idea of the tradition. Probably laughed about it more than normal because it took me a longer than it should've to figure out it was supposed to be tapping.

From 2:30 this morning, until about 5:00, we got about an
inch and a half of snow. They've closed the entire city. I
have no idea why. The streets are not frozen. I "braved" my
way to my office just to get a crack at the BQoD. So where
is it, Buddy? <g>
