A cornerstone of Atlanta professional sports, Nobis was the first player chosen by the Atlanta Falcons in their first ever NFL draft. An Outland and Maxwell Trophy winning linebacker at Texas, he played 11 seasons with the Falcons and worked in the front office for decades after that. Nobis was commonly referred to as "Mr. Falcon." and remained one of their most popular players ever. He died from dementia and was part of a class action lawsuit by former players settled by the League.
