The first Jeopardy! taping that I ever saw live was in support of melleon. I got to watch a little history that day, to melleon's misfortune. She came up against Tom Walsh, who became the first player ever to win seven games in regular play. I stuck around for the full day, so I saw five of his wins, one of which featured melleon as a challenger.
On Thursday, melleon's son continued the family tradition, appearing as a challenger on Jeopardy!. His result was different, though. On Friday, we all had the opportunity to watch his first appearance as the defending champion. That defense proved unsuccessful, but I know that melleon is delighted that her son will forevermore be entitled to call himself a Jeopardy! champion. --Bob

I did not know that was melleon's kid. I saw both his shows, so I saw the win. Congrats to him.
